Finally! A winter storm...
Just in time for my daughter, who thought she was escaping winter weather, we had a great amount of snow. It normally lasts no more than a day, but now it's cold enough to keep some lingering white in shady areas.
The trip to the airport takes us north into Colorado, and a rise in altitude. The road to the airport (albeit a "back road", and the shortest distance) looked like this today. It was stunning with vistas of white mountains in the bright sunshine an hour later! Melting...
More storms coming! And we calculate that we will be at the airport every 7 days for the next month!
Coming, going, going, and coming home... Maybe it will be drier next week, but everyone has hoped for moisture...

Starting again
Alternating days of sunshine and snow. Sorry, folks: This is what I call "snow".
No real accumulation. Just a stiff wind and flurries. (That's why I live in NM.)
The weather and the month of February, having finished a bunch of things, makes me do this:
Notice the baby bonnet is missing. It's packed and sent East. And I forgot to photograph my socks that are in other bags, 3 rows of one sock, and the ever daunting Skew sock which hasn't been moved from its resting place since... October.
I'm so thankful I have drawers...
Priority #1: C's brown shawl. I need to get several inches done before Monday so she can take over. (Upper right)
Priority #2: Mittens (lower right) which will be combination of convertible and cupcakes. Wish me luck! Latest deadline (if they are for this winter) is March 15.

Winter arrived...

Winter?
Really, this is often the extent of winter in NWNM.
Remember the picture last week of the leaves?
This morning we have this.
It won't last. By noon it will be just wet leaves. (Not sure what the sigh is about... maybe it's the winter, maybe it's that the snow will disappear, however, that's the reason I live here.... maybe it's the blankity blank slippers I'm working on.)
